Hey There, I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m Ashley Nicole

Here on my website, I share the kind of real, nourishing recipes and simple living skills that our grandmothers once knew — before fast food, factory farms, and convenience cooking took over. This is a space for slow living, faith-filled homemaking, and preserving the old ways.

You may have seen the picture of my old wooden kitchen spoons. They’re not shiny or new, but they’re some of my most treasured tools. I’ve used them since I first began learning how to cook — stirring pots of soup, folding in flour, and scraping batter from worn bowls. These spoons have seen hundreds of meals. They’ve stirred both successes and flops, and they’ve taught me that good food takes time, heart, and a little bit of trial and error.

Over the years, I found that many modern recipes left me disappointed, lacking the depth and comfort I was craving. That’s when I turned back to the roots of cooking: old fashioned recipes and vintage recipes passed down through generations.

On my YouTube channel, Recipes Remembered, I bring these lost and loved recipes back to life. These are handwritten recipe cards, tattered notebooks, and home-cooked dishes once shared between neighbors, mothers, and daughters.

Whether it’s a blueberry tea cake from a 1950s church cookbook or a handwritten pot pie recipe found in a thrifted recipe tin, each one carries a story.

Every recipe is tested in my own farmhouse kitchen and shared with the hope that you’ll rediscover the joy of real, wholesome cooking too.

Alongside cooking, I share our life as a modern homesteading family. We raise meat rabbits, grow our own food, forage for wild herbs, and make many of our own natural remedies from plants we gather ourselves.

Homesteading wasn’t something I always planned — it was something the Lord gently led me to over time. If you’d like to know more about how we got here, I share the full story in My Homesteading Journey: Faith-Filled Living blog post. It’s a reflection on health struggles, heart changes, and learning to walk in obedience and trust as a Wife, homemaker, mother, and believer.

Whether you’re here to learn how to raise rabbits, find a good healing salve recipe, or bake an old-fashioned cake from a vintage card, I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
