Equipment

  • Quail Egg Scissors
  • Stainless Steel Skimmer
  • Electric Quail Egg Peeler

Ingredients

  • Quail Eggs
  • Water
  • Ice

Instructions

Prepare the Eggs:

  • Gently rinse the quail eggs under cool running water to remove any dirt or debris.

Boil the Water:

  • Fill a medium-sized saucepan with water and quail eggs
  • Bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.

Cook the Eggs:

  • Once boiling, add the eggs.
  • Boil for exactly 4 minutes for hard-boiled eggs. For soft boiled, cook for only 2 minutes. Start your time once the water is boiling again after adding the eggs.

Ice Bath:

  • While the eggs are boiling, prepare an ice bath by filling a large bowl with ice and water.
  • After 4 minutes, quickly transfer the quail eggs from the boiling water to the ice bath to stop the cooking process. Let them sit in the ice bath for about 5 minutes.

Peel the Eggs:

  • Gently tap the quail eggs on a hard surface to crack the shells.
  • Roll the eggs between your hands to loosen the shell, then peel starting from the wider end where the air sac is located.

Serve and Enjoy:

  • The hard-boiled quail eggs are now ready to be enjoyed on their own, added to salads, or used in various dishes.

Notes

  • Quail eggs have a more delicate shell and membrane compared to chicken eggs, so handle them gently to avoid breaking.
  • If you prefer softer yolks, reduce the boiling time to 2.5-3 minutes for medium-boiled or 2 minutes for soft-boiled eggs.
Feel free to adjust the number of eggs and boiling time based on your preference. Enjoy your perfectly hard-boiled quail eggs
